The background to the Project
The concept for the Friends of Pukekura Park archive project evolved from working with George Fuller, former Curator of Pukekura Park, to sort through the information and knowledge accrued by him during his association with the Park. It was determined that his archive should reside with Puke Ariki, who became a Project Partner. The Friends signed an agreement with Puke Ariki in May 2007
The Community Partnership Fund, from central government agreed to support the Friends project as a pilot for the wider T.E.R:R.A.I.N. (Taranaki Educational Resource: Research, Analysis and Information Network). A schedule of payments and deliverables was agreed with the Ministry of INternal Affairs in March 2008.
