Cicada Amphisalta zealandica.

Caption

New Zealand's largest cicada Amphislata zealandica  "Kihikihi Wawa" has a bright green patch on the back, and appears in forest areas in mid summer. Males are very noisy, which explains the name "wawa" which translates as 'roaring'. Herringbone scars on branches are the scars from the female cicada laying her eggs.
